FAQ - What is your philosophy on meditation practices?
Our philosophy on this is simple – these type of meditations work well for some, don’t work for others. There is no ‘one’ thing you can do that will serve all people – for each of you are unique. For some, it is not enjoyable to strive for this particular mind state, sitting in certain positions, enforcing the practice daily, and so in fact this feels quite unnatural and forced rather than tuning into a way that feels natural and flowing as a way to connect within.
Think of it this way – meditation is one tool to help you ‘go within’. What other tools are there, that may be more enjoyable right at your disposal?
For some of you, you meditate when you run or do exercise – you achieve a certain ‘mind state’, you hear your breath, you feel inner guidance coming in more clearly – is jogging to achieve this state any less appropriate than meditating?
For others, this state can come by simply reading a book, or taking a bath, simply just sitting quietly and ‘doing nothing’, or going outside in nature. There is no ‘right way’ to go within. You have to tune into yourself and determine the type of person you are:
- Am I a ‘do-er’? Do I need to feel like I am doing something in order to feel like I am accomplishing something, or can I just sit and be and trust that this IS doing something?
- Do I need goals? Is it helpful for me to feel like I am improving – getting to the next ‘level’ of awareness? If so, do I need to find a method that helps me note my progress?
- Is this a priority at this time? Do I even feel the need to ‘go within’ in a way that will guide me to change my schedule to ‘fit it in’? If so, what could I fit into my schedule right now that would feel enjoyable and a reprieve, instead of a chore?
Only you can determine how best to connect with your Essence. Of course, through the memberships, we often model many different ways to ‘Talk to Essence’ so that you can be in constant contact with Essence, simply as part of your thoughts.
